I've completely redesigned the selection mechanism to be much more user-friendly:

1. **Click the first letter** of the word you want to find
- The cell gets a blue border and pulsing animation
- Status message shows: "First letter selected: X. Click the last letter."
2. **Click the last letter** of the word
- The game automatically selects all letters in a straight line between the two points
- If it's a valid word, it gets marked as found with green highlighting
3. **Clear Selection** button
- Click to cancel your current selection and start over
- Also works if you click the same cell twice
